There is one thing these stories from different genres have in common: What seems normal in our lives suddenly and viciously turns out to be strange and frightening. The tales told here delight in breaking our brittle sense of logic and rationality. Our everyday sanity to which we desperately cling is under attack. But we need this basic common sense to establish our conviction that things are always more or less what they seem. Some stories: The knight of our dreams ? not the night of our dreams * Innovations reach even the oldest forest ? eventually * After death, the soul leaves the body ? or so we believe * Smokers know the risk they run ? right? * First contact ? and last contact? * Career chance ? RPG Dungeons need a support crew to clean and maintain both the venue and its creatures for new adventurers * Zeus and Europa ? in present day politics * and more...It's the extraordinary that lurks in the shadow of the ordinary. Gods, beings from other worlds, creatures of the forest, and perhaps even the damned ? they all play their game with people's expectations and hopes. Stories with a twist.

Autor

Ju Honisch started writing at the age of twelve much to her parents' chagrin who thought she should apply her time to more useful endeavours. Decades later, useful endeavours still do not seem to be entirely her forte. She has lived in Germany and Ireland and currently abides in Hesse with too many books, too many musical instruments but only one husband. She has an MA in literary studies and history which explains her love for stories with an historical background.

For her first novel "Obsidian Secrets" (the German version: "Das Obsidianherz") she received the German Fantasy Award (Deutscher Phantastik Preis) in 2009. The last book in the same series was awarded the SERAPH, the award for speculative literature given out by the Phantastische Akademie at the Leipzig Book Fair 2014.

She writes in both English and German.
